It seems like just about every TV show [old and new] is being put out on DVD these days, but there is one short-lived series from 1972 I would like to see on DVD that currently isn't. It was called Ghost Story during its first season and Circle of Fear afterwards. It had a total of 23 one-hour episodes. I can't remember many of the episodes as I only saw it when I was a kid, but I do remember it being really, really creepy. But then again I was just a kid, so maybe I wouldn't be as impressed as an adult. I do remember the one episode, I don't remember what it was called, but it was the one about the little girl with the dollhouse that she uses to control the people in her "real" house. That one was cool. It seems to have a few people that remember it fondly on the IMDB messageboard, not bad for a series that has hardly aired at all for 34 years! I wish I could at least find the theme song somewhere, I can remember it being a good, haunting theme.
Harlan Ellison and Richard Matheson are listed as writers and William Castle was the producer. And some notable actors played in some of the episodes: Jason Robards, Geena Rowlands, Meg Foster, James Franciscus, Karen Black, Melvyn Douglas, Jodie Foster, Richard Mulligan, Jackie Cooper, Mariette Hartley, Hal Linden, Rip Torn, Geraldine Page, Angie Dickinson, Janet Leigh, Martin Sheen, Tyne Daly, Susan Dey and David Soul. Wow, not bad for such a short series!
